When choosing your Liberty prints it is sometimes of interest to know the history of these iconic fabrics.  We have tried to include information on as many as our chosen prints as possible. 

Liberty Going For Gold - This fun scenic design leads you energetically across the fabric from one sport to another. Painted in gouache in the Liberty studio, it features the five debut sports introduced to the Tokyo Olympics; Baseball, Sport climbing, Skateboarding, Surfing and Karate. Part of the Liberty Champions Capsule Collection celebrates the thrills, spills and epic highs of competitive sports – with artworks inspired by the archive, alongside brand new prints drawn and painted in the Liberty Fabrics design studio. The collection pays homage to the Sports Day events that were once held for the Liberty community by our founder Arthur Lasenby Liberty on the grounds of his Lee Manor country estate in Buckinghamshire. The design team searched the archive to discover accounts and photographs of these fun-filled sports competitions, translating their findings into colourful new designs brimming with vitality and movement.

Liberty Ordinance - Created in the Liberty studio using flat gouache paint and fine line pen, Ordinance is a bold geometric design of map contour lines and footpaths, inspired by long walks in the great outdoors.
For Spring/Summer 2023, Liberty Fabrics surrenders to the power of nature with the Beauty and Chaos collection. The natural world has always been the fundamental inspiration for the Liberty brand, informing their creative output across the last 150 years – from the earliest woodblock botanical motifs to the most cutting-edge digital artworks, their artists and designers have looked wildwards to gardens, fields, and forests to spark creativity and wonder. Returning to this elemental source of imaginative power, this collection is a story of opposites and complexities, told through three central themes that celebrate and explore the clash of juxtaposing natural forces across the elements of earth, water and air.

Liberty London Cupid's Bow - was inspired by the god of love, is richly coloured with a plenty of ground space and delivers a powerful romantic message. Cupid’s Bow is part of the Universe story of our Autumn/Winter 2023 collection – reflecting the enduring symbolic power of stories to explain the world around us, these designs capture a realm of fierce passion and drama.

Liberty Jude's Garden - created in watercolour paints, this botanical print features a variety of British wildflowers in a delicate meadow scene, reminiscent of a typical Liberty floral design.

Liberty Pavilion - is painted in vibrant watercolours, Liberty Fabrics’ Pavilion is an English garden border design where foliage and flora overlap into a tapestry of shimmering colour. 

Liberty Lines Ballet - was part of the FuturLiberty collection - which is an exploration of the unexpected in the Liberty archive, resulting in a reinvention of Liberty Fabrics – inspired by, and celebrating the artistic movements of Futurism, Vorticism, and a century of avant-garde. In collaboration with interior designer Federico Forquet, our designers have curated a collection that explores Liberty’s archetypal Arts and Crafts designs - drawing on the experimental work of famed Liberty designer, Bernard Nevill. The reinterpreted artworks appear with a refreshed intensity and loud optimism, with newly created designs featuring surprising geometrics, lively abstractions, and rhythmic lines.

Liberty Nine Elms - Liberty fabrics is recognised for their ditsy floral designs, the Liberty archive is also home to a vast collection of unexpected artworks. For Nine Elms, the London design studio combined two of these unusual, archival artworks. The outcome is an abstract floral design, featuring graphic heart motifs layered with textures inspired by a unique 1985 print. Part of The Liberty in Love collection for Spring Summer 2026 showcases seven whimsical designs inspired by the archive. Imbued with a sense of charm and romance, the designs are decorated with traditional symbols of love, including hearts, florals, and loving words.

Liberty Ellis Garden - was created in 1989 by Pru Roskrow who headed the Liberty textile design studio during the 1980s, this wonderfully tactile botanical celebrates her signature painterly approach. Expertly transferred onto fabric to preserve even the most subtle watercolour nuances, Ellis Garden emerges as an almost impressionistic floral medley. This particular cotton prepared in a slightly different process to ensure GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification. Printed in the Liberty Printing Mill in Northern Italy, the organic version of their signature Tana has a beautifully warm and soft touch, combining rich fluidity with vibrant print quality.

We gladly accept exchanges. 

PLEASE NOTE: Because all our items are made to order, we cannot offer a full refund unless the item is damaged or faulty.

Please contact us within 14 days of delivery and send items back within 30 days of delivery.  

The item must be returned in the same unworn condition it arrived in.  We will send you a replacement OR issue a gift card with the amount you paid, depending on your preference.

If the item arrived faulty please contact us immediately for a replacement or full refund.

Turbans lined with 100% cotton - we recommend dry cleaning as a precautionary measure but many clients have safely hand-washed in a cold-30C wash with a silk & wool detergent designed for delicate fabrics.
