We discovered over the years that the signature headwear styles we have developed appeal more and more to women. They wanted grown up versions of our original luxury kids headwear for themselves - they want more from their accessories - to sleep in them, swim in them, care for their hair and heads as part of their hair care regime, cover bad hair days as well as dialling it up on High days and holidays. They want investment pieces, with style, and sustainability at the heart. 

As customers are moving away from fast throwaway fashion, they're looking to smaller brands, choosing to make more considered purchases and wanting to invest in demi luxe and bespoke designs that are cut to fit real women and their real needs. As women we are all looking to brands that understand what looks good and feels comfortable for us, timeless and season-less classics that will last, be treasured and passed on to the next generation. And this is exactly what we want to give you.

Silk & Lawn is an accessories brand creating beautiful handmade headbands, hair ties & turbans for little and grown up people. Specialising in Liberty prints and luxury fabrics, perfect for delicate skin. As our name suggests we are crazy about Liberty printed pure silks and Tana lawn cottons.

Born out of a sunny holiday with my mum Susan (chief designer and co-owner) and my two little girls – and the struggle to keep a hat on their heads, we started to fashion headscarves in the style of 1940s Land girls - and found they loved them and so did everyone we met - more importantly they kept them on - the concept is an oldie but a goodie – and the rest, as they say, is history.

From that moment to this our collections have grown and now we create beautiful hair and beauty accessories for all ages. Using the very finest materials 100% pure silk, cotton and wools, for the softest, kindest and most breathable coverage possible.

Every piece is hand crafted and handmade to the highest standard. So whether you are a fashion and beauty aficionado, recovering from hair loss or medical treatment, looking for a unique gift, or simply wanting a little bit of everyday luxury - then we should have all your needs covered.
